Daft Prompt

Multiagent composition and analysis: upload a track, ask for songs by style or instrumentation, or create new music.

Overview

Upload a track to extract its MIR features in real time: tempo, key, chord progressions, per-instrument stems and analysis using Demucs, Krumhansl-Schmuckler, and per-bar triad detection. Search for existing songs by style, era, or instrumentation, request compositional analysis at the instrument level, or compose new music in a target style, optionally borrowing rhythms or instruments from other songs. The system runs a LangGraph multi-agent negotiation: a director sets arrangement and style, instrument agents propose their parts, an arbiter resolves conflicts through a shared SongState. Outputs render to MIDI and MusicXML, all inside a retro-futuristic Daft Punk-styled interface.

Highlights

  • Clean-architecture FastAPI backend with 112 unit tests and architecture boundary tests keeping the layers honest.
  • Composition engine: director, then instrument agents, then arbiter, converging on a shared SongState with SSE streaming to the UI.
  • Real MIR: A/B/C structure detection from chord patterns, key candidates with relative-ambiguity flags.
